Genghis Cohen and AC

Hey y'all well here I am again..wow it's not easy getting used to this blogging thing not really a compulsion “yet?” more like a dread!! I might scare myself (or you) with the things that I say!!

Anyway hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend ours was well.....different! Started out promising with the Genghis Cohen gig, it felt right to be there singing about Jesus it might have been one of the few times the average Joe had heard the name of The Lord spoken or sung in love instead of being used as a cuss word for sometime (if ever), so if that's the extent of the “mission” I guess that's alright, although I think it goes further somehow, deeper & yet to be revealed no doubt.

Everyone who came had a good time even though the turn out was a little disappointing I must say, WHERE WERE YOU?! But hey it was a holiday weekend and it was a billion degrees out side, right?? Hmmm not convinced, they have AC and it's a cool & fun place to hang, surely the Princess Diana fest couldn't have been that enticing or was it Mad Men!!??? whaaaaa I hope not...

As promised Glen sang some highly emotive new songs including one that just blew everyone away about ones personal gravity, I got to blow loads of harmonica including in 1st and 3rd position (harp talk people) as opposed to my standard blues 2nd position. Ory is such a good harmony singer he can make you weep and Rich really has no idea he looks like Jack Black, I promise.

Man this heatwave is getting old fast!!! We only have a wall AC unit in our bedroom so it's sicky, icky and tricky to stay comfortable .... someone out there must be loving it , but that ain't me . See yer when it cools down..
love peace and the other thing yeah that's right “understanding”

Monday Monday

Well suddenly it's the Monday before the unplugged gig at Genghis Cohen.
I'm really looking forward to it, I got the idea while Shannon and I were in Prague, I felt it was time get a little mellow, it must have had something to do with the cool architecture and the hot 98 degree weather, anyway when I got back I booked the show without knowing exactly what i was going to do, then thought about asking Glen Veenstra and Ory Brochet to play it with me. I was delighted when both agreed, Rich Renkin wanted to join in so that clinched it, we had a run through yesterday so I know it's gonner be great, Glen has some beautiful new songs and Ory will be premiering his new kit design, Rich has a new custom bass to play and I have new socks my mum gave me in England, I hope to see you there..

Hello world!

Wow so here I am , I guess I'm now a blogger! Nice blogger site, my computer is now a bloggers computer, my home is a bloggers home, my wife is now a bloggers wife, it's kinda exciting really, all I need is my blogger sweats, t-shirt and my blogger coffee mug and I'll be really blogged out! Anyway what's new ??

Molly Malones Aug 4 07
Well the Molly Malones gig last Saturday went well although there weren't a lot of people this time, all the same we had fun I think it was edgy musically {in a good
way} maybe a bit sloppy here and there but good.

We hit some highs and were hanging on to the edge for dear life, it's where rock n roll lives musically, like skiing or skate boarding too fast (not that I do either ) but you know that am I going fall and at this speed it'll hurt feeling??.....but you don't fall you start to
fly instead! Yeah the band is starting to click.

Anyway I've posted the free "bootleg" recording of the gig click the
link below to download, enjoy.
